Basics of SDDC

Software Defined Data Centre (SDDC)

Software Defined DC uses virtualization technologies to separate H/W into Virtual Machines. The goal is to centrally control all the components of a Data Centre.

By virtualizing a DC all the resources of the system like compute, network, storage can be represented into a software form. Automation and orchestration also came to play here in SSDC technology.

Different software platforms open and proprietary can be used to virtualize computing resources.

Software Defined Networking

Software Defined Storage

Virtual Machines

These resources can be offered as infrastructure as a service (IAAS).

Stakeholders/ customers don’t have to build the infrastructure which reduced the cost. Centralized operations to serve many customers from a single hub. Its basically new enterprise level computing technology.
